The One with the 30 Days of Movies Challenge: Part 14

Day 14: A movie no one expected you to love
The Hurt Locker (Kathryn Bigelow, 2008)

Hm, I wasn't too sure about this question since everybody who knows me knows that I love all types of movies, therefore wouldn't be surprised about anything I love. However, I've never really loved war movies, so that could be a possibility. I don't know about anybody I know, but I, myself, never expected to love this movie as much as I did, especially the last scene. Wow. I couldn't get that out of my head for days. I love great endings, so maybe that was the defining moment when I realised that I loved this movie. And Jeremy Renner is so amazing in this, as he is in everything. I was a little bitter about this winning Best Picture because I wanted Inglourious Basterds to win, but now that I've seen it, I can accept it. Even if I don't completely agree :) But yes, this is an amazing movie.

The One with the 30 Days of Movies Challenge: Part 13

Day 13: A movie that is a guilty pleasure
Twilight (Catherine Hardwicke, 2008)

~Cue the haters. So now you know my dirty little secret. Yeah, so what? I like Twilight. This is probably the epitome of the guilty pleasure. Well, in my defense, the first movie is so gorgeous. It's so beautiful to look at (I adore the use of cool colours in this movie, I really do) and so is its cast. So, sue me. And you know what, I don't care if the vampires in this movie sparkle. Most people believe that the concept of a vampire is a myth anyway, so what difference does it make what the vampire's traits are? I mean, vampires aren't real, so deal with it. Just let the creator's imagination run free. I honestly don't understand why people take it so personal. This movie makes me happy and I think it's lovely and Edward & Bella are gorgeous, you know it :)

The One with the 30 Days of Movies Challenge: Part 12

Day 12: A movie you hate.
Avatar (James Cameron, 2009)

Whenever I get asked this question, this is the answer and probably always will be. I feel very passionate about this movie - in the most negative way possible. I just...I don't understand how people could love it. Yes, it's visually stunning and that's all it has going for it. The writing is horrible, the concept is too strange to even agree with and it's TOO LONG. Why though? It's ridiculously long for an under average movie! That last fight scene which is extremely repetitive is about half an hour overlong. Ridiculous. And it won best drama picture at the Golden Globes. I mean, really. Though it is the Golden Globes, what do you expect? Well, I'm just horrified that there will be sequels. What a joke.

The One Where I apologise for not updating at all this year.

Hello :) I've been terrible at updating this blog. To be honest, I'm not even sure why. I guess year 12 got in the way and then I guess it was that horrible transition into university. So, since I'm settled, I'm ready to update this bad boy again. Actually, I would apologise for not updating but, let's face it, I have nobody really to apologise to. I have 7 followers though my blog was (somewhat) hot about 2 years ago, so they probably don't even check this site anymore :P But if they do and care enough about this post, or if I had, or even have, any loyal bloggers that check my site but don't officially follow me, I'm sorry. To make up for it, I jazzed up the layout and overall appearance of my page :)

One website I update about 15 times (no exaggeration) a day is my tumblr page. Check it out: http://tayshathefilmgeek.tumblr.com/

By the way, I will continue the 30 Day Movie Challenge soon. Thank you to Jaggerfan1 for supplying me with the rest of the meme :)
