Excuse the profanity; but I JUST LOVE MIA WALLACE. She is the coolest character of all time, YES, OF ALL TIME. She’s badass, she OOZES coolness, she knows what she wants; SHE WANTS TO DANCE AND SHE WANTS THAT TROPHY, she hates “to yak about bullshit in order to be comfortable” and she loves when she comes back from the bathroom and finds her food waiting for her and $5 milkshakes. She is definitely an Elvis woman. SHE IS THE QUEEN OF EVERYTHING. I WANT TO BE HER. Uma Thurman’s performance is FLAWLESS.

Day 10 - Favourite Classic Movie
Gone with the Wind (Victor Fleming, 1939)

Ah, this movie! Although it goes for 238 minutes, I never wish it to finish and I enjoy every second. This movie is visually stunning and I love the characters; especially Scarlett, because she’s a tough bitch, and Rhett because he’s just so darn handsome! Vivien Leigh & Clark Gable are incredible! And the story is fantastic; I really wish to read the book it was based on. And because it goes for so long, I really get involved and I feel like I’ve actually lived their life and I get truly heartbroken at the end. I just think; after all they’ve been through, he leaves! arghhh! But then I’m happy because she figures out what to do :) Brilliant film! :D

Day 08 - A movie that you've seen countless times
Steel Magnolias (Herbert Ross, 1989)

I used to watch this everyday when I was about five (I'm really not kidding), so I would say that I've seen this heaps of times that I really couldn't count, I really couldn't even give you a ballpark answer. It used to be my favourite movie ever, I even loved it more than the Lion King. That fact's weird, I know, but that's just the kind of five year old I was :) I have seen this film heaps after that, and I still love it :)

Day 07 - The most surprising plot twist or ending
Tie between Fight Club (David Fincher, 1999) & Psycho (Alfred Hitchcock, 1960)

These are the two films which I immediately thought of. When I watched Fight Club I was stunned by the ending! My friend and I were just stupefied! It was incredible. We only thought it was about some guys forming a fight club, but it was just so much more than that, it's a full-on psychological experience and we LOVED it. The ending is brilliant! Psycho, possibly; surprised me a little more. The fact that the shower scene happens close to the beginning was that in itself surprising. When Norman's truth was revealed at the end I was totally surprised! I did not see that coming, at all!

Day 06 - Favourite movie made for TV
Gia (Michael Cristofer, 1998)

One day I stole this movie from my dad’s office because he wouldn’t let me see it, and I’m so glad I did, and it stuffed up my computer, but it was so worth it! Gia is such a beautiful film and Angelina is brilliant in it! I love the interviews and the whole documentary-feel of the film because that made it all the more real, and ultimately; revealed to the world how lonely Gia Carangi really was and how her life was filled with tragedy. This film is very underrated and I recommend it film to all. I just love it :)

Day 05 - Favourite love story in a movie
Sam and Joon in Benny & Joon (Jeremiah S. Chechik, 1993)

Sam and Joon were the first people I thought of. They are so beautiful and I love them together. Their relationship is full of innocence and they are so precious. They make each other laugh, they really care for each other and they would do anything for each other. They are just adorable :)

Day 04 - A movie that makes you sad:
Mask (Peter Bogdanovich, 1985)

No other film has hit me harder than this. This broke my heart into a million pieces. I have never cried as much, ever, as I did while watching this. The film is brilliant, and I love it, I really do, but I hate it at the same time because it makes me so sad. I said to myself that I’d wait a long time until the next time I see this; I probably won’t be able to take it again. If you haven’t seen this film, I still highly recommend it, because it’s great, but it will break your heart.

Day 03 - A movie that makes you really happy
Grease (Randal Kleiser, 1978)

Even thinking about this film makes me happy, and I've seen it a thousand times, but I still have the same feeling after every time I watch it; the feeling of wanting to see it again, immediately! I will never get tired of this movie, ever. These are the things about it that make me happy: The fact that I can sing every word of every song on the soundtrack. The fact that my mother used to watch this every morning (without fail) before she went to work during the 80's. The fact that when I first saw it when I was little (not sure on the exact age) that I was in love with Danny Zuko and that that love has never ceased. The fact that this movie is so cool! I love everything about this film, everything included in this film and everything that relates to this film. It makes me really happy :)

Day 02 - The most underrated movie:
Donnie Brasco (Mike Newell, 1997)

It is unbelievable how underrated this film is. I never hear anything about it and it is, in my opinion; one of the best gangster films ever! It takes you on a journey that makes you laugh, that is extremely intriguing, and ultimately; completely breaks your heart (the ending made me cry like a little baby). And, just take a look at that brilliant cast! Also, if I may say; this should be on the top 250 list on the IMDB!! Why isn't it?!

Okay, I stole this from Tumblr, and I thought it'd be fun to do here. This 'challenge' goes for 30 days. It asks a different question [sort of] everyday :D
Okay, let's start this madness!

Day 01 - The best movie you saw during the last year:
Inglourious Basterds (Quentin Tarantino, 2009)

I adore this film, obviously. I have seen quite a few films from 2009, and I must say; I love Inglourious Basterds the most. In fact, no film had ever effected me the way this one did. I don't know what it was about it that made me feel like that, and I can't even explain the feeling, but I knew it was great, and I knew from the moment the credits rolled, that I was completely in love with this film. It has kick-ass characters [whom I LOVE], fantastic cinematography, a fascinating storyline, classic Tarantino dialogue scenes and humour, brilliant action and gory scenes under flawless direction. Definitely the best film of 2009 and the best film I've seen during the last year :)

The One Where Bingham's Up in the Air.

The first time I saw the trailer for this film, I knew I had to see it. I had heard nothing but great things about it, it stars George Clooney, and the Golden Globes were coming up, and it was nominated for six. Plus, my parents were dying to see it also, so we all went together, and we all loved it.

The film centers Ryan Bingham, a man whose job is to travel around America firing people. He led an empty, selfish life, until two women entered it, and changed Ryan and his life forever.

George Clooney plays Ryan Bingham. His job is lousy, no doubt, but he has become accustomed to it, therefore; he feels no pain in firing various helpless employees whatsoever. Because Ryan is always flying different places for his job; or always 'up in the air' and spending time at airports, he hardly ever goes home and consequently, calls the airport home. Ryan goes through a total personality change during the film; going from a carefree, non-caring man to the total opposite. I think of him as somewhat of a fascinating character, or maybe that's just me.
Clooney is amazing as always. I know people say that it was "George playing George, so he got it easy and there was no skill required to play Ryan". May I say that this is total crap! Of course the role required skill, and Clooney nailed it! He very much deserved his Academy Award nomination!

Vera Farmiga plays Alex Goran; a woman Ryan meets at the airport one day. Alex and Ryan form a casual sexual relationship and meet every few days. I really liked the character of Alex as well. I may not have liked her so much towards the end, I won't spoil it, I'll just say that her justifying was understandable.
I've only seen Vera Farmiga in one other film, but I think she is fantastic. She did an amazing job playing Alex. I'm really happy that she gained a Academy Award nomination for this. She was great!

Anna Kendrick plays Natalie Keener; a young woman who just started to work for Ryan's company and thinks she can change their whole system, which she does. Natalie is sweet, caring and very naive, just like any other young woman in a film. I liked her very much. I thought she was hilarious, especially in the scene where she gets drunk and lets loose, which reminded me somewhat of Sarah Jessica Parker's character in the Family Stone.
I must give many kudos to Kendrick. She went from a nobody to becoming famous because of the Twilight Series, then that gave her this role, then she was nominated for an Academy Award! My gosh, that is amazing! I think she deserves her success very much! I don't even know her, but I'm proud of her. She was really great in her role as Natalie.

This film is truly hilarious. There were many scenes where I was laughing out loud. These scenes included [And I must say; many of them involved Natalie]; Natalie crying, Natalie drunk, Ryan teaching Natalie how to live and, of course; all the scenes with or involving dialogue about Ryan's sister, Julie (Melanie Lynskey). I shall talk about these one by one, without talking about it too much to the point where I've recounted the entire film for you, and ultimately; ruin it :)
Natalie crying after her boyfriend dumps her is gold. She then latches on to Ryan for a comforting hug:

The way she cries is just hilarious! Alex then sees them, and comes over for a chat. Natalie is rambling, and says to Alex; "You're so pretty. You're exactly what I want to look like in fifteen years." The whole cinema, including my family and myself cracked up with laughter.

The scene where Natalie is drunk and singing karaoke is also hilarious:

At the airport, Ryan teaches Natalie a valuable lesson involving which line to stand in at airport security:
Ryan Bingham: Asians. They pack light, travel efficiently and they got a thing for slip-on shoes. God love 'em.
Natalie Keener: That's racist.
Ryan Bingham: I'm like my mother, I stereotype. It's faster.'

And finally; this:

Ryan's sister; Julie, wants Ryan to take this cardboard cut-out of her and her fiancé around America and take photos of it in front of various sites so they can show everybody 'where they've been' (but really haven't been). This is a running joke throughout the film which is pure gold. I loved this!

Although, there may be many hilarious scenes; this is a drama. Ryan's carefree, un-caring nature is frustrating to some, and people wish for him to make some sort of human connection. Ryan attempts to do just this and gain some sort of perspective. He is then able to connect with others, and teaches others to do the same, well just Julie's fiancé (as you can see in the trailer). That scene is truly beautiful. I personally, did not cry in this film, but many other people have and I can see why. But just because I did not cry, that doesn't mean that this film did not move me. It did.

The twists are brilliant in this film, and so is the ending! The twists left me absolutely breathless. If you haven't read any spoilers before seeing this film (which I hadn't), you'd be incredibly surprised regarding twists in this film. The ending is probably not what you expected either. I won't say any more because if I did, I will certainly ruin the film.

Overall, this film is magnificent. I loved the humor, characters, storyline, moving sentiment and surprises! Everything. I enjoyed it immensely! 2nd best film of 2009 - after Inglourious Basterds. It deserved every one of its Academy Award nominations, and it is a shame it didn't win any.
I give it 4 out of 4 stars.

The One With Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's.

I was ecstatic when this was on television in January, because I've always wanted to see it. I've always heard great things about it, and I've always had a soft spot for Audrey Hepburn because of her sweetness, personality & charity work, but I had never seen any of her films. Now, I have, and I must say; I am officially a big Audrey Hepburn fan.

Struggling writer Paul Varjak (George Peppard), moves into a New York apartment building, and becomes interested in Holly Golighty (Audrey Hepburn), his new, quirky socialite neighbor. Her lifestyle is confusing to Paul, and this allows him to become fascinated by her.

Let me start off by saying that I love Holly Golightly! She may not be that sure of everything, and have some serious emotional issues, but she is still the definition of fabulous! Holly is indeed an intriguing character and I hung on to her every move throughout the entire film. She fascinated me.
And Audrey Hepburn...my gosh! She is so great as Holly! Although it isn't your typical Audrey role, and Hepburn was somewhat hesitant taking on the role, she nailed it anyway, and ironically; it became her most memorable. I cannot see nobody else in this role. Hepburn brought so much grace to the role, which I appreciated very much. She is amazing.

Ah, Fred...I mean Paul Varjak. He's so dreamy. He is such a sweet character that has clearly been in love with Holly since they met. Don't get me wrong, he's not sissy sweet. He puts Holly in her place when he needed to, but I will not spoil that any further, because it's great!
I had never heard of George Peppard until I saw this film. And since I've seen this, I've become quite fond of him, I'd be willing to see any of his other films. I think he is great.

Now, there has been much controversy about Mickey Rooney's character; Mr. Yunioshi. Yes, he plays an Asian man. Many people say that his character is offensive. I, personally, didn't have a problem with it, but I see why it may be offensive to some. But it really shouldn't ruin the film for anybody, because, really, Rooney only has a bit part.

The story was extremely intriguing, and I loved that. My dad; not so much. He hated it. There is much that happens in this film, and I really got into it. After seeing this, I would very much love to read Truman Capote's classic novel.
I will not spoil the ending; but it is the cutest one ever! It made me feel so happy afterward and I'm truly a sucker for that. I've read that the ending in the film is different to the one in the novel, but I loved it nonetheless, and I think that this ending did indeed work.
My favourite part of the film is when Holly and Paul share a romantic day together. This involves them visiting the shop (seen below), visiting the library and of course; spending some time at Tiffany's!

Also, I must mention "cat", who is Holly's cat. Pretty self explanatory. May I say, Cat; who is played by Orangey, is so beautiful. So beautiful in fact, that I actually named my cat after it. Obviously I'm not the only one who loved Orangey, because it won the Patsy award for its role as Cat. Mind you, the Patsy awards are the equivalent to the Academy Awards :)

This film is fabulous and intriguing. I could watch it again very soon!

The One Where It's No Country for Old Men.

I watched No Country for Old Men (2007) on January the 13th this year, but I've waited to see it since it won four Academy Awards in 2008. For that reason, as well as the fact that I love Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin and Tommy Lee Jones, I knew I had to see this! And I'm so glad I did. Everything about this film was amazing!

The film centers around Llewelyn Moss (Josh Brolin) who accidentally stumbles across some dead bodies, a stash of heroin and more than $2 million in cash near the Rio Grande. The problem is that the person hired to retrieve that money which Llewelyn has decided to keep, is a psychopathic killer (Javier Bardem), and he wants it back; and wants to make sure he obtains that money again by being hot on Llewelyn's trail. Meanwhile, the local police officers (one who is Tommy Lee Jones) are doubting that they can control the amount and level of crime that is occurring.

The acting is top-notch in this film, as well as the direction; just as we would all expect it to be.
Tommy Lee Jones plays Ed Tom Bell; a local police officer. I especially liked his narration at the beginning of the film, because it gave the audience great context. It set the tone of the film, as well as the overall vibe; which I always appreciate. I always love narration because I feel personally involved in the film, and I really get into it that way. I also think that Jones plays a fine sheriff :)

Josh Brolin plays the aforementioned Llewelyn Moss; who was a regular guy who lived a regular life, until he stumbled upon the fortune. This is why we feel so sorry for him for getting caught up in all the mess with the killer! He didn't deserve that; well, except for the fact that he indeed decided to keep the money; which illegal, but he was still innocent enough for the audience to feel sympathy towards him.
I know Brolin wasn't the Coens' first choice, but Brolin gives a great performance that was undeniably believable, as usual. I have to give many kudos to Brolin for acting in two of the greatest films of 2007; Planet Terror and, of course; this film.

Javier Bardem gives one of the greatest performances ever as Anton Chigurh. Anton is a truly fascinating character and one of the best and most memorable villains of all time in my opinion. This is because he is unusual; both mentally and physically [haircut], ruthless and just plain crazy!
Bardem never ceases to amaze me. His performance is just flawless, and I'm so glad he won the Academy Award for best supporting actor. He deserved it very much. I loved him, was terrified by him and ultimately; blown away. Kudos, Bardem; you're amazing! I just love him!

The intensity of this film is astounding, especially in the gas station scene; my favourite scene of the film. It involves Anton having a rather strange conversation with the gas station proprietor. Anton flips a coin and covers the result with his hand, and tells the proprietor to call it. Whether he calls heads or tails, will depend on his life. If the coin indeed reveals the side he called; he lives; if it doesn't; he dies. I won't tell you the outcome of this scene because that would be a spoiler. But I will say that this scene is remarkable, and that it was terrifying.

The silence in the film is an aspect that I appreciated also. I thought it was effective and proved that less is more. If it had some stupid songs in the background, I don't think it would have been as effective.
Many people don't particularly like the ending, but I really did. Personally, I thought it was very fitting. Again, I won't reveal spoilers.

Overall, I loved this film and would recommend it to anybody; except children. The performances were amazing, the direction was also great; of course. This is a Coen brothers masterpiece! It was suspenseful, climatic and just fantastic! I love it.
This is a thriller that you will never forget.
I give it 4 out of 4 stars.

The One with those "Amazing" Avatars.

Wow, I know I haven't done this in such a long time, and, FYI; I saw this film back on the 12th of January. I'm a little behind on my reviewing, but I'll catch up :)
Okay, I really did not have an interest in seeing this film. I thought it was full of special effects and nothing else...and I was pretty much right about that. Seeing this film was not my intention, but then I thought, I might as well. Apparently it's great, everybody loves it, so why not? Why not(?) you ask, I'll tell you why not...

Written & Directed by: James Cameron

Jake Sully is a paraplegic marine who is set on a mission to travel to a new world; Pandora, and report back to the U.S military. There, Sully meets Neytiri, falls in love, and gets caught up in the Na'vi Native world of Pandora because he now feels as if it's his home, therefore defies his initial orders of reporting to the U.S military.

I shall report back to my golden globes blog where I said that Avatar was very weak. This, in my eyes; is the truth. It had a boring screenplay and the acting wasn't anything special. I was so glad that it only won the academy awards it did, because that's all it deserved. Yes, I have to admit I loved the visuals; the scene where Jake first arrives at Pandora & the one where Jake and Neytiri first meet are visually stunning, but so what?
Jake and Neytiri weren't so believable as a couple to me at all, although it is a nice enough concept...a little familiar though. And that sex scene; cringe-worthy! I must say; I did love Giovanni Ribisi in this film. I am a fan of him, and I think he was great, and it was a shame that he wasn't in it more than he was.

Okay, many people say this and it is completely true; this film is as if it's anti-American. Americans are depicted as the enemy, merely because Jake sides with the natives and rejects Colonel Miles Quaritch's project altogether. In my opinion, this was frustrating, and also very predictable, but sometimes there is nothing wrong with that, I suppose.

The long-winded, near 40-minute battle at the end was just ridiculous. It went on a little too long for my liking. It was the same thing happening over and over again. Frankly; I wanted this scene to end... fast! Usually, I'm very patient with viewing films, but this scene was painful.

Now, I know this 3D phenomenon is catching on, and I'm not it's biggest fan. It did make Avatar a wonderful experience, but that's all this film was; an experience; nothing else. Most people love it because it's visually stunning; blah, blah, freaking blah, but as I've said; that doesn't cut it. That doesn't make it one of the greatest films ever! Not on my watch, anyway.

This film is still in cinemas here, since December 17 actually; and I find this silly. But I must applaud you, James Cameron. You've created a hell of an experience. Avatar sequels have been discussed; but please don't make them.
I give it 2 out of 4 stars.

The One With True Romance.

I've wanted to see True Romance (1993) since I was about 4 years old. This is because I always used to see the poster up in my garage and I thought Patricia Arquette was the prettiest woman in the world. From then on, I was obsessed with wanting to see it. After turning 17, I finally got that chance and it was worth the wait.

This film is full of drama, comedy and is somewhat glamourous. Clarence Worley (Christian Slater) marries hooker; Alabama Whitman (Patricia Arquette), steals her pimp (Gary Oldman)'s cocaine which he then tries to sell to Hollywood. This causes many mishaps, especially the fact that the owners of that cocaine try to get it back.

Every character in this film is great. The fact that they're so different to each other makes the film extremely interesting.

Christian Slater is Clarence Worley
His best lines:
1. "I mean look at her. It looks like she fell off the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down."
2. "I always said, if I had to fuck a guy... I mean had to, if my life depended on it... I'd fuck Elvis."
3. "If there's one thing this last week has taught me, it's better to have a gun and not need it than to need a gun and not have it."
4. "You just said you love me, now if I say I love you and just throw caution to the wind and let the chips fall where they may and you're lying to me I'm gonna fuckin' die."

Alabama was right, Clarence is "so cool"! Clarence is a man who loves films, especially kung fu ones, and is obsessed with Elvis Presley. From the first line that Clarence speaks, it is obvious that he is such a likable character. He never loses my interest & he's just plain cool, something that pretty much every Tarantino character is.
Christian Slater is amazing as Clarence. Although, Slater would be at the bottom of Tarantino's list for people to play Clarence, I thought he suited the part quite well. He was very believable & definitely pulled it off. Slater is real good at playing a cool guy, like he did in Heathers opposite Winona Ryder.

Patricia Arquette is Alabama Whitman
Her best lines:
1. "Okey dokey doggie daddy."
2. "I'm not a whore. I'm a call-girl. There's a difference, you know?"
3. "I'm gonna go jump in the tub and get all slippery and soapy and then hop in that waterbed and watch X-rated movies 'till you get your ass back in my lovn' arms."
4. "Stop being so fucking calm about all this."

Alabama is as cute as the dickens! She was a call-girl for exactly four days, until she met Clarence, her third customer. After falling in love with him, she quit. She too, is lovable. Many unfortunate things happen to her, and she gets through them every time with such grace. She is a very strong woman. I love her :)
I already loved Patricia Arquette for her performance in Ed Wood, and this film made me love her more. It proved that she is quite the chameleon.

Dennis Hopper is Clifford Worley
His best lines:
1. "'Cause you, you're part eggplant."
2. "No, I'm, no, I'm quoting... history. It's written. It's a fact, it's written."
3. "Son of a bitch was right. She tastes like a peach."

Dennis Hopper plays Clarence's father, Clifford. He truly loves his son and would do anything to keep him safe. He is a very sweet character. There is a scene with him & Christopher Walken that is simultaneously funny & upsetting.
Leonard Maltin was right, it is weird seeing Dennis Hopper playing the most normal character in a film, because he usually plays a psycho. Well, I must say he plays both types of characters very well.

Val Kilmer is the Mentor/Clarence's Elvis
His best lines:
1. "You think a cop gives a fuck about a pimp? Listen. Every pimp in the world gets shot. Two in the back of the fuckin' head. Cops'd throw a party, man."
2. "I like you, Clarence. Always have. Always will."
3. "Naw man you were cooler than cool."

This character is fantastic! He is so cool! He's such a smooth-talker and continuously talks sense into Clarence. I would definitely love a mentor like him, he's really good value. He gives encouragement, important facts and helpful pointers. This character also fits into Clarence's Elvis obsession perfectly.
I must admit, I have a huge crush on Val Kilmer as Elvis! This is a perfect role for Kilmer. He is a master of playing totally cool characters such as Batman, that shows in this film especially. His part is relatively small, but I love it and I really look forward to seeing him when he's not onscreen.

Gary Oldman is Drexl Spivey
His best lines:
1. "Now I know I'm pretty, but I ain't as pretty as a couple of titties."
2. "He must have thought it was white boy day. It ain't white boy day, is it?"

I hate this character [in that kind of hate/love way], only because he is such a wannabe sleazeball! He was Alabama's pimp before she quit prostitution. But the audience is supposed to hate this character and we are supposed to root for Clarence when they are fighting each other!
I really don't Drexl and that proves that Gary Oldman is a fantastic actor, he was so believable! Oldman's performance in this film is definitely one of his best!

Brad Pitt is Floyd
His best lines:
1. "Hey! Get some beer and some cleaning products!"
2. "Don't condescend me, man. I'll fuckin' kill ya, man."

Floyd! I love Floyd! He is so hilarious. He is Dick's lousy freeloading stoner roommate. He never leaves his couch. He is truly hilarious when men with guns come bursting into his house and he gets really(!) excited. Although Floyd is a very small part, I really look forward to seeing him.
Brad Pitt is so good as Floyd. I've read that it was actually his idea that Floyd be a stoner who never left the couch. Well, I say; good choice, Brad! :) Pitt is so good at playing comedic characters! He should do so much more of it!

Christopher Walken is Vincenzo Coccotti
His best lines:
1. "You're a cantaloupe."
2. "Sicilians are great liars. The best in the world. I'm Sicilian."
3. "That smarts, doesn't it? Getting slammed in the nose. Fucks you all up. You get that pain shootin' through your brain, your eyes fill up with water. That ain't any kind of fun, but what I have to offer you, that's as good as it's gonna get."
4. "Now, what we got here is a little game of show and tell. You don't wanna show me nothing but you're telling me everything."

I know we're supposed to hate Coccotti but I really like him. I think he's really cool! I know what he did to Clifford was so wrong, but he is smooth, you have to give him that.
Christopher Walken is fantastic, as usual, in this role. I always enjoy his small parts in films, including this one, as well as Pulp Fiction. The way he delivers his lines is perfect. Kudos to Walken :)

If anybody saw what's left of My Best Friend's Birthday, you would see that the two films are very similar. That is because True Romance is in fact based on My Best Friend's Birthday [both written by Quentin Tarantino]. After most of My Best Friend's Birthday was destroyed in a fire, this film had to be made again. But, sadly, in order to fund Reservoir Dogs, Tarantino had to sell the script for True Romance. This all worked out for the best though :)

It definitely would have been interesting to see Quentin Tarantino direct it. If that was the case, there would have been an alternate ending. Personally, I love how Tony Scott ended it, although Tarantino's ending is very strong and very interesting, but ultimately I believe that Scott's ending really proved the film title, and I liked that. But in many ways, so does Tarantino's. I would have been happy with any of those endings though :)

People always ask when Tarantino's going to do a romantic comedy. Well, as Tarantino has said; he wrote True Romance and "that's not an ironic title". This is very true. This film is all about love. The ending actually made me cry. It was beautiful. This film is awesome! Tarantino and Scott did a great job! What's great is that this film could have been even better if Tarantino directed it(!), although it is still great.
I give it 3.5 out of 4 stars

The One Where It's Complicated.

I've seen It's Complicated (2009) in the cinemas twice. The first time was with my friend. We saw it because we thought it would be hilarious - we were right. The second time was with my mother. She wanted to see it badly & I was up for it. We loved it. I thoroughly enjoyed the film both times.

Jane Adler (Meryl Streep) is caught in a messy, complicated love triangle with her charming, cheeky ex-husband, Jake (Alec Baldwin) who she recently hooked up with at their son's graduation, and her 'nerdy', sweet architect, Adam (Steve Martin).
Personally, I cannot pick between the two. Baldwin is ridiculously charming as always, and Martin is so sweet, we just can't resist it. If somebody put a gun to my head, I still probably wouldn't even be able to pick.

Streep is still absolutely gorgeous at 60 and great as Jane. Her performance is outstanding, as usual for Ms. Streep. She nailed everything, especially the facial expressions. I love seeing Streep in comedies because she's very good in them, I must say. Although many people have said that Jane's situation is very unbelievable, I don't think it's that far-fetched, but whatever.
Baldwin is, as I've said, completely charming in his role as Jake. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing his character, especially when he sneaks around. Those scenes especially, are hilarious.
I found Martin totally adorable as Adam, especially in the scene where he is trying on all of the different sweaters! Maybe if I had two guns to my head, I'd say that I may like Adam a little better, but I love Jake as well :)

Jane and Jake's children are great as well. They're all very likable, sweet characters. They are just how Jane's children should be; perfect.
Their son-in-law, Harley (John Krasinski) is the best! Apart from the main three characters, Harley is my favourite. He is the first one to find out about Jane & Jake's affair and has to keep it a secret from everybody else. Every one of his lines is hilarious, I laughed out loud every time he spoke. I can definitely say that I am a John Krasinski fan now :)

There are so many great scenes in this film, but the best one is where Jane & Adam turn up stoned to Harley & Lauren's party. They then engage in an awkward (obviously, not awkward to them) conversation with Jake and his younger wife, Agness [pictured below] about how Jane & Agness have been married to the same man. I laughed out loud during the entire party scene. Meyers deserves huge kudos for her screenplay.

The ending [I won't spoil it] is very satisfying. I think it ended very well. The decisions Jane made at the end were just right.
The cast of this film couldn't be better. Everybody suited their roles so well and there were no big dull duds whatsoever. Meryl Streep definitely deserves to be nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy. She did a fine job.
It's Complicated is nominated for Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy which is also well deserved. Nancy Meyers is nominated for a Best Screenplay - Motion Picture Golden Globe which is also well deserved, but Quentin Tarantino should definitely get it for Inglourious Basterds :)

This film is funny, smart, charming & very entertaining. I will be waiting a while before I see it again though, twice in four days is just too much.
I give it 3.5 out of 4 stars.
